Our Story
Sri Godavarish Sahu devoted his entire life to delivering quality education to children in remote rural areas in odisha. Beginning his career as a teacher and later serving as an education official (sub-inspector of schools), he worked relentlessly to fortify government schools. His efforts spanned the challenging terrains of undivided Koraput, Gajapati, and Ganjam districts. Inspired by his unwavering commitment to 'Quality Education', 'Improving Government Schools', and uplifting underprivileged children, we proudly carry forward his legacy.
To carry forward his vision, we established the "Godavarish Education Foundation." On the first anniversary of Sri Godavarish Sahu's passing, we launched an initiative to identify and honor exceptional teachers in the locality through the “Education Excellence Award”. By recognizing their efforts to improve the quality of learning in government schools, we aim to enhance the overall government school system. Through this foundation, we strive to empower teachers to become catalysts for delivering quality education in government schools.

Awards
The ‘Education Excellence Awards’ acknowledge teachers for their exceptional contributions in transforming education through their dedication to teaching, educational development, and enriching the lives of learners in Ganjam district, Odisha, by the ‘Godavarish Education Foundation’.
This award identify and recognize teachers, anganwadi workers, physical education teachers and education officials for their promising contribution to quality education, development of students and pushing the eco system to the next level every year.
Benefits
The recipient receives a cash prize, a trophy, a certificate acknowledging their performance, and gains extensive recognition and media coverage for their accomplishments.

–Best Teacher: One each from Primary, Upper Primary and High School
–Best Anganwadi Worker: One from Pre-School (Early Childhood Education)
–Best Physical Education Teacher : One from High School
–Best Education Officer: One from Block (CRCC, ABEO, BEO)

Nomination
Eligibility Criteria:
- Teachers, Anganwadi Workers, Physical Education Teachers (PET), and Education Officials (CRCC, ABEO, BEO) working in government institutions can apply for the award.
- Applicants must complete a prescribed “self-nomination” form and submit it along with their CV and evidence of achievements (via online or offline channels).
Disqualification:
- Teachers, Anganwadi Workers, Physical Education Teachers (PET), and Education Officials (CRCC, ABEO, BEO) working in government institutions can apply for the award.
- Applicants must complete a prescribed “self-nomination” form and submit it along with their CV and evidence of achievements (via online or offline channels).
Confidentiality:
- Information received will be treated confidentially and used solely for determining the award winner.

Selection Process
Application Review and Selection:
- After receiving the applications within the specified timeframe, the nominees’ submissions in each category will be presented to the “Jury Members”.
- The jury will then proceed with the selection process to determine the award winners.
Participation Authorization:
- The authority to permit participation remains with the awards management team.
